Here's how Contaminated Water can affect your Health!

Water may contain various elements ranging from harmful chemicals to different microorganisms. Usually, the water looks clear to naked eyes. However, if we see under the microscope, we can observe so many things depending upon the source of water. For instance, water from deep submersible level contains high salts and minerals dissolved, a high level of total dissolved solids (TDS). The water which is from ponds or river having chemical manufacturing or processing facilities nearby may have some chemicals. ‘Minimata syndrome’ is a classic example of the illness of people of Japan who consumed fish from seawater which was contaminated by mercury from industrial waste mismanagement. Such contamination is referred to as chemical contamination of water.

On the other hand, if the water is stored for a prolonged period without treatment, it allows the proliferation of different microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungi and algae. Furthermore, water gets contaminated with a variety of microorganisms by coming in contact with the infected matter of a person directly or indirectly.
